Pristine Auctions Offers Hundreds of CGC-certified Collectibles in Exclusive Sale

The ongoing auction features only CGC-certified collectibles, including TCGs, sports cards, comics and home video collectibles.

Hundreds of collectibles graded by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) — including TCGs, sports cards, comics and home video collectibles — are currently being offered in a CGC-exclusive auction by Pristine Auction, a trusted auction house and CGC Group Submitter. Online bidding is already underway for the CGC Featured auction, which is set to end on December 14, 2024.

The auction includes more than 300 collectibles, all of which are graded by CGC. Each of the collectibles being offered in the sale were submitted to CGC through Pristine Auction — a CGC Group Submitter — for expert authentication, grading and encapsulation at a discounted rate (see the end of this article for more information!).

Here are some highlights:

TCGs

Dozens of trading cards certified by CGC Cards® are being offered in the sale, including this Ancient Mew, Pokémon (2000) Movie Promo – Pokémon Movie 2000 graded CGC 7.5. Ancient Mew is a unique promo card mirroring the antiquated Mew card that Lawrence III kept in Pokémon: 2000. Wizards of the Coast printed this promo card and gave it away to fans who purchased a ticket to see the movie in theaters. While these promos are commonly seen in collections, acquiring one today can be difficult as the card is now more than 20 years old.

Other CGC-certified TCGs being offered in the sale include:

  • a Gengar, Pokémon (2022) Japanese Dark Phantasma Character Rare graded CGC Pristine 10
  • a Charizard ex, Pokémon (2023) Japanese Shiny Treasure ex graded CGC Pristine 10
  • a Diancie, Pokémon (2022) Japanese VSTAR Universe Art Rare graded CGC Gem Mint 10
  • a Kyurem VMAX, Pokémon (2022) Japanese Lost Abyss graded CGC Gem Mint 10
  • a Wiglett, Pokémon (2023) Japanese Scarlet ex Art Rare graded CGC Pristine 10

Sports Cards

A Kobe Bryant rookie card stands out among the hundreds of CGC-certified sports cards in the auction. The 1996-97 Upper Deck #58 Kobe Bryant graded CGC 9.5 shows a softer side of the intense basketball legend — a feature that makes the card popular among collectors. One of the greatest basketball players of all time, Bryant is celebrated for his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he was a five-time NBA champion and holds numerous records and accolades.

Other CGC-certified sports cards being offered in the auction include:

  • a 2024 Topps Living Set #768 Paul Skenes graded CGC Pristine 10
  • a 2024 Topps Now UFC #17 Sharabutdin Magomedov Purple graded CGC Gem Mint 10
  • a 2020 Panini Absolute #162 Jordan Love graded CGC Gem Mint 10
  • a 2024 Topps Now #763 Shohei Ohtani graded CGC Pristine 10
  • a 1989 Classic #131 Ken Griffey Jr. Travel Orange graded CGC Gem Mint 10

Comics

Several comics certified by CGC are being offered in the sale, including an Amazing Spider-Man #1, Marvel Comics (6/14) graded CGC 9.8. The 2014 reboot of Spider-Man by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos featured Peter Parker returning as the iconic web-slinging hero, complete with a new and improved attitude. This first issue also features the first appearance of Silk (Cindy Moon).

Other notable CGC-certified comics and magazines being offered in the auction include:

  • a Green Lantern #105, D.C. Comics (6/78) graded CGC 9
  • a WildC.A.T.S. #1, Image Comics (8/92) graded CGC 9.2
  • a Free Comic Book Day 2022: Avengers / X-Men #1, Marvel Comics (6/22) graded CGC 9.8
  • a Spider-Man 2099 #1, Marvel Comics (11/92) graded CGC 9.4
  • an Action Comics #521, D.C. Comics (7/81) graded CGC 9.2

Home Video

A sealed copy of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master on VHS, Media Home Entertainment (1988) graded CGC 9.4 A is drawing attention in the sale. Lovingly referred to as the “MTV Nightmare” of the franchise, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 received mix reviews upon release but became the third highest-grossing film in the franchise, achieving $49.4 million in the domestic box office against a budget of only $6.5 million. Because of this, the VHS release was popular among home video consumers, which makes finding a sealed copy (especially in fantastic condition, like this one) a harrowing task.

Other CGC-certified home video collectibles being offered in the sale include:

  • a sealed All the Right Moves VHS, CBS/Fox Video (1984) graded CGC 9.6 A++
  • a sealed Amadeus VHS, Thorn EMI/HBO Video (1984) graded CGC 9.4 B+
  • a sealed Beverly Hills Cop Betamax, Paramount Home Video (1985) graded CGC 9.4 A+
  • a sealed American Graffiti VHS, MCA Home Video (1985) graded CGC 9.4 B
  • a sealed House Betamax, New World Video (1986) graded CGC 9.4 A+
