Blade Runner: First Home Video Graded by CGC Offered at Auction for a Second Time

CGC's first VHS graded — Blade Runner — has re-emerged in the market in Heritage Auctions’ latest home video collectibles sale. It is among the CGC-certified VHS and Betamax tapes available in Heritage’s VHS and Home Entertainment Showcase Auction, which is set to end on March 28, 2025.
The sealed Blade Runner VHS, Embassy Home Entertainment (1983) graded CGC 9.0 A++ and pedigreed as the First VHS Graded by CGC Home Video (lot 4010) is available for bidding for only the second time since it first appeared in auction in June 2023, where it realized $5,750. Since its original release in 1982, Blade Runner has become a cult classic, with many of its themes and settings serving as inspiration for modern science fiction films.

Additionally, a sealed First Blood VHS, Thorn EMI Video (1982) graded CGC 9.4 B+ (lot 4022) is turning heads in the sale. This is a first release copy, which is exceptionally more rare than later releases of the film on VHS. The film stars Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, a former Vietnam veteran who confronts a small town’s police force in a violent confrontation after he and others are mistreated. First Blood established Stallone’s stardom and launched the Rambo franchise.
