During the 1980s and 1990s, when home video became more affordable, film studios launched exciting promotions and discount offers for consumers. For example, one of these promotions included the "Wrap Up Hollywood" campaign, which allowed customers to purchase certain home video collectibles for $29.95 each — a significantly discounted price. As a result, many classic films came with special packaging including eye-catching publisher stickers on the front, showcasing these incredible discounts.
Unfortunately, many collectors removed these stickers to display the full box art of the home video collectible. CGC Home Video's Senior Finalizer, Paul Zamarelli, advises leaving these publisher stickers untouched. Removing them could harm the home video collectible's shrink wrap and affect its grade during circulation. For more information, check out this video where Zamarelli goes over publisher stickers in more detail.
